The PCE-IGM 60 Gloss meter is an optical measuring instrument with a measuring geometry of 60°. The surface is analyzed by the gloss meter and then the result is shown. Every surface has the characteristic of reflecting light. This feature is used by the gloss meter to send light onto the surface. This happens when the gloss meter PCE-IGM 60 is at an angle of 60°. A large part of the transmitted light penetrates the surface and the remaining light particles are reflected from the surface. Then the gloss meter calculates which gloss value the surface has by the light that is reflected.
The measured values thus obtained can be stored directly on the gloss meter. Using the supplied software, it is possible to read out the data at a later time on the computer and analyze it. The fact that the gloss meter has a measuring range of up to 2000 measurement points ensures that the majority of surfaces can be measured with the gloss meter.
