The E-TC is a high-precision temperature measurement DAQ device with an Ethernet interface, providing excellent value per channel. Its internal measurement electronics surpass the accuracy specifications of the thermocouple sensors, making it a superior choice. It is functionally similar to the USB-TC, facilitating easy application migration.

The device features a built-in high-speed communication port, enabling users to remotely access and configure the device over the Internet. It can accommodate up to eight differential thermocouple (TC) input channels, supporting a maximum sample rate of 4 S/s per channel. It is compatible with TC types J, K, R, S, T, N, E, and B, which can be selected per channel through software.

The E-TC is equipped with two high-resolution cold-junction compensation (CJC) sensors, one for every four TC inputs. It also features open-thermocouple detection (OTD) for all TC input channels, allowing users to monitor for broken or disconnected TCs.

In addition to its temperature measurement capabilities, the E-TC has eight digital I/O channels that are electrically isolated from the analog circuits. Each bit can be individually configured for input or output. Data transfer rates can reach up to 5 kS/s when the device and host are connected by Ethernet to the same local network. The digital port can be configured for pull-up or pull-down with a jumper on the circuit board.

The device also offers temperature alarm functionality. Each digital output can be optionally configured as an alarm for each TC input. When an alarm is enabled, the output line associated with the alarm is driven to the appropriate state determined by the alarm options and input temperature. These alarms can be used to control a device or application that indicates when a temperature threshold has been exceeded, or to indicate an OTC condition.

The E-TC also includes a 32-bit event counter pin that counts TTL pulses and accepts frequency inputs up to 10 MHz. It requires external power from the included 5 volt, 1 amp power adapter (PS-5V1AEPS).

The device is factory-calibrated using a NIST-traceable calibration process for assured accuracy. Software support includes DAQami, an out-of-the-box application for data logging, visualization, and signal generation. Data can be viewed in real-time or post-acquisition on user-configurable displays. Drivers are included for the most popular applications and programming languages including Visual C++, Visual C#, Visual Basic.NET, DASYLab, LabVIEW, Linux, and Python.
